ON BEING SHIPWRECKED

Take a journey with me...because sometimes the most beautiful things come out of the UNEXPECTED. Picture the metaphor of being shipwrecked--the fear, the unknown, the shock. (haven't we all felt a little shipwrecked lately?) Then...picture yourself a few days later, when all of a sudden you realize time has slowed down, and you are seeing what is around you in a new light. You begin exploring where you are, you begin treasure hunting the beauty around you--the colors, the beach, the shells, the trees, the morning and evening light. As you explore, something new happens and your mind switches from danger to possibility, from lost to found.

This Collection celebrates the moment when you look around and see all the beautiful things around you in a new light, because you now have time to look. For my Shipwrecked Collection, I began to dig around in my "treasure bead drawers" and all of a sudden this beautiful collection emerged in living colors of pink, corals, turquoise, sages and greens. Not just regular colors, but colors with a luster and texture that come from withstanding the tests of weather and time. The beautiful things I had found, had been around me, right underfoot, I just had to take time to look!
